Amsterdam has the largest urban charging network for electric cars in the world. Drivers can go to 320 points to ‘refuel’!
The Amsterdam City Council expects that the number of charging points by the end of this year has been doubled and they hope 1000 charging points will be operational by December 2013.
The five most popular charging points in Amsterdam are located outside the city center.
Nr 1 on the charging point list: Julianaplein, daily 45.9 kilowatt hours (kWh), good for 270 electric miles.
In the past 6 months, more green energy is loaded in Amsterdam than the rest of the Netherlands in two years!
That’s 342,000 kWh. Converted good for over 1.7 million emission-free kilometers, or almost 42 times around the earth!!
