[heading style=”1″]Amsterdam will be the host city for this year’s anniversary edition of the MTV European Music Award[/heading]
It may be months away but that hasn’t stopped the organisers of this year’s MTV EMAs from already choosing their host city and it’s….drum roll….Amsterdam!
The 20th annual Europe Music Awards will come live from the Dutch capital on November 10. Following record breaking viewing figures for last year’s ceremony, held in Frankfurt, MTV are hoping to replicate the huge success when stars descend on the Ziggo Dome in the city.
“We’re very excited to partner with the city of Amsterdam, a true world class music city and top destination for artists,” said Bruce Gillmer, Executive Vice President of Talent and Music Programming/Events, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN).
“Each year the MTV EMA celebrates the biggest names in music from every corner of the globe and showcases unbelievable performances from today’s most exciting acts.”
“We’re confident that Amsterdam, and the cutting-edge Ziggo Dome, with its state of the art facilities, will be the perfect setting for what will be a very memorable and spectacular ‘2013 MTV EMA.’”
The EMAs always attract the biggest names in music. The 2012 awards saw Rita Ora, The Killers and Taylor Swift all take to the stage whilst Justin Bieber and One Direction were the big winners on the night.
Away from the music a bit of glam was provided by the ceremony’s supermodel host Heidi Klum and appearances from the likes of Kim Kardashian.
We wonder which star performers Amsterdam will attract?
