Brandstof (which literally means fuel) is a bar where locals fresh out of the office, drink a Friday afternoon pint discussing their weekend plans.
This café is famous for its terrace. In the summertime the sun sticks around for a very long time and often you see people waiting for a spot.
The interior is hip and trendy but the atmosphere is relaxed.
Brandstof is located on the corner of Rozengracht and Marnixstraat. It’s an easy 10-15 minutes walk from the Dam and Leidseplein or the Elandsgracht.
If you want to take the public transport, tram 10, 17,13,14 and 3 stops in front of the door (stop: Rozengracht).
The food (dinner) is good but not really great, it’s affordable though. They do serve nice sandwiches for lunch and they have a large coffeetable where you can read the paper or surf the internet (free wifi available). Brandstof is a nice place to kick off the weekend with a couple of beers and bitterballs.
Starter, main, dessert, couple of beers, €50,- per person
