De Zotte is a pearl hidden behind the Leidseplein, and a must do if you are in the neighbourhood. It’s a small bar with a ridiculous large beer menu! Almost all the beers are from Belgium and from draft, beers are being tapped in large glasses.
When I go here I let myself be surprised and just pick a beer from the menu. But watch out, because those Belgian beers have a kickback with an alcohol percentage of around 6 till 10%! So when you walk out of this place you always feel happy and ready to party.
The place itself is almost always packed with people, mostly youngsters who come here before or after a night out. It just has a real homey and laid back vibe and after 11 you can smoke in here. Prices are also affordable.
