Bar De Huyschkaemer is a nice bar in the Utrechtsestraat, which exists for over 20 years and is well-known by students and locals living around Rembrandt Square or the Pijp. Especially in the weekend and Student-night (Thursday night) the place is a good place for a drink after a nice dinner close by or before going out to a club.
Because of the nice, small terrace outside, the bar is also a good spot for lunch or a afternoon drink with some fingerfood.
The choice food is nothing special, just some sandwiches and salads, but the quality is okay.
The service of the staff is good, mostly students, who take time to help you with a smile.
Because of the young staff and being located in the student area of Amsterdam, the bar could become crowded in the evenings, and people standing outside on the street with their drinks, when the weather allows this.
If you are here during the day, don’t forget to enter the great shops on the Utrechtsestraat, with cool brands and fancy clothes. The bar is open from 11:30 till 1 am (3 am in the weekend)
Bar de Huyschkaemer is located opposite of Pata Negra, the Spanish tapas restaurant. The bar is located on a few 100 mtrs from the Albert Cuyp market at one side and the Rembrandt Square at the other.
